The Story Behind the Weave:
This rug was woven by the artisans of Khzama village.
Located in the Mid-Atlas Mountains, this village is located within the Siroua region of Morocco not far from Taznakht a town known for it's rich weaving history.
Made of 100% wool from the local sheep of the village, the artisans carded, brushed and spun the wool by hand. They then used local plants, spices and herbs to dye the wool.
Woven with intricate detail this rug captures the intersection of modern design and ancient craft.
