The Story Behind the Weave:
This rug was woven by a group of artisans who reside in a village just outside of Beni M'rirt which is located within the Middle Atlas Mountains.
Pictured is Soukina, one of the members of the association.
Made up of 100% wool, the varying caramel colors were dyed using a mix of local plants. The traditional Beni M’rirt rug contains a thick knot which allows for their rugs to feel extra plush.
Each rug is made entirely by hand so there will always be small variations in pattern, color and exact size (up to 10 cm variation) due to the organic nature of the materials but we strive to accurately capture the detail and color so you know what you’re getting.
