The Story Behind the Weave:This pillow was made by an association of women artisans just outside of Kalaat M'Gouna.Located in the southeast of Morocco, this village is most known for its valley of roses, and they have a well-known rose festival every May..Mina, pictured, is the matriarch of the association, she has passed the art of weaving down to her daughters, daughters-in-law, cousins, and villagers. This timeless piece represents generations of tradition and symbolism. For example the middle symbol is thought to represent a lion paw which symbolizes strength and protection in the Amazigh culture.
Each pillow is one-of-a-kind, made from a vintage textile that was woven in the village.* Pillow insert not included
