The Story Behind the Weave:This rug was handwoven by Khadija.
Khadija passed away over 20 years ago and left this rug to her husband. Her husband, now married to Fatima (pictured) lives in Ouarzazate which is located in the south of Morocco and is known as the gateway to the Sahara Desert.This rug tells a beautiful story of color & symbolism. For example, the middle symbols is thought to represent a finger which symbolizes protection in the Amazigh culture. The border symbols represent a spider which symbolizes fertility and magic.Due to the age of this piece, you will find some light fraying, with that said, with proper care this piece will continue to charm for many years to come.
