This Beni M'Rirt rug was woven by Malika, Nadia, Hanan, and Zahra.
Malika, Nadia, Hanan, Hanan and Zahra belong to a group of artisans that weave in M'Rirt, a village nestled into the Mid-Atlas Mountains.
Historically, the Beni M'Rirt rug had limited design elements but with the rising popularity of the Beni Ourain rug the Beni M'Rirt rug has evolved to include various amounts of geometric patterns. While the design influence has changed the densely woven rug technique has stayed consistent.
Made from 100% live wool - the four women spent a total of six weeks working on this golden Tetris weave.
This rug is the perfect combination of modern design and traditional technique.
