The Story Behind the Weave:
The Association Le Vieux Village is a beautiful collective of women artisans just outside of Tazenakht, a town known for its weaving history.
These vintage rugs comes from the village that sisters, Fatima and Naima, were born and raised in and where their extended relatives still live.
This vintage beauty was originally woven by the sister's aunt and has been passed down through the generations. Her aunt cleaned, brushed and spun all of the wool herself using 100% live sheep’s wool. Both the black and white wool are undyed and come from black and white sheep respectively.
Depending on the size, there is a unique Zanafi stripe in the beginning of each rug which allows each vintage rug to be a true one-of-a-kind heirloom.
With proper care, these rug will endure for decades to come.
