The Story Behind the Weave:
This rug was woven by Khadija who resides in a village 20 km outside of Amizmiz which is based in the Al Haouz Province of Morocco.

Saida and her sister, pictured, have recently started a village association of women weavers to help their elder neighbors sell their beautifully handcrafted rugs.

Khadija lives in a neighboring village and made this vintage Boucherouite (pronounced boo-shay-reet) decades ago.

This Boucherouite is made of various recycled textile scraps, yarn and wool. These rugs were not originally intended to be sold as they were mostly used in the weavers’ own homes.

In total, Khadija spent three weeks executing this vibrant runner, ready to bring color to any hallway.
