The Story Behind the Weave:This traditional style is referred to as Beni Ourain and it was handwoven by sisters Rabha and Latifa over five months. “Beni Ourain” is a regional name that includes 17 Berber tribes, all living among the Atlas Mountains. This is the most common style of Moroccan rugs, but while they usually share geometric design elements, each tribe has their own signature style. This piece is woven from natural, undyed wool of black and white sheep—it feels just as plush and comfortable as it looks. Though this style represents centuries of tradition, the simple and striking design is truly timeless, so you can look forward to enjoying this gorgeous piece for generations to come.
