The Story Behind the Weave:
This rug was handwoven by Rokia.

Rokia belongs to a female-only weaving association located a few kilometers north of the popular weaving town of Tazenakht.

This piece consists of 100% live wool, which was carded, brushed and spun by the women of the association. The color palette is derived from organic spice blends from the local vegetation.

Rokia designed this piece after being inspired by her surrounding landscape.

For example, not this weave depict camel and wild dogs that would often roam around her village but within the rug you'll see symbols of that are thought to represent frogs which represent fertility and magic in the Amazigh culture.
