The Story Behind the Weave:
This one-of-a-kind vintage Boucherouite was handwoven by the elders in a small village in the Zat Valley, one of the most photogenic valleys in Morocco.

This rug style is called Boucherouite (pronounced boo-shay-reet). Some call them 'rag rugs,' as they are made of various recycled or retired clothing and textile scraps. These rugs were not originally intended to be sold as they were mostly used in the weavers’ own homes.

Khadija, one of the elders, told us this piece was made of a combination of wool and fabric from her village. These materials combined with the age results in an extra vibrant, unique rug ready to bring color to any home.

Due to the age of this piece, you will find some light fraying throughout the piece.
