This one-of-a-kind rug was handwoven by the artisans of Chichaoua, a village located between Marrakech and Essaouira.
Made from 100% sheep's wool, the rose color is derived from the local madder plant that is abundant within the region.
Based in the Al Haouz Province of Morocco this rug style is similar to the Boujad rug - this style of rugs are hand-knotted utilizing local sheep and vibrant dyes.
Due to the age of this piece, you will find some light fraying on either end. With that said, this broken-in quality is very much part of its charm. With proper care, this piece will continue to charm for many years to come.
