HANDWOVEN MOROCCAN RUGS
A collection of one-of-a-kind textiles, handwoven by Berber women, the artisans preserving thousands of years of tradition.
Shop nowSalam Hello meets every artisan face-to-face. We ask women to share the stories behind their textiles, and involve them in negotiations to make sure they’re fairly compensated.
The Berber people believe these textiles have protective, magical and mystical properties. The loom used to make the textile is the ultimate symbol of magical protection, wool is considered lucky, hammer combs are designed to avert evil and the weaver is always on guard to ensure evil does not enter between the threads. Ultimately, the final textile is a power shield against the evil eye.
