The Story Behind the Weave:
These one-of-a-kind rugs were handwoven by Khatima and Malika in Ait Yadine, a village in the Middle Atlas mountains.
Khatima and Malika spent nine weeks total on this mixed weave design - three weeks on the smaller sample design and six weeks for the larger design.
Made from 100% live wool - the artisans carded, spun and dyed the wool themselves.
The bold colorway comes from natural spice and plant dyes which when combined create a Sahara tinted orange with an Oxblood stripped accent.
This traditional hand-knot style has been modernized by incorporating unique recessed Flatweave lines which creates a mesmerizing dimension to the rug.
