Cyndi Ramirez
At Home With is an interview series from Salam Hello where we follow our favorite pieces into the homes of designers, curators, and creatives shaping the way we live. Each story explores what home means and the objects, rituals, and perspectives that bring it all together.
In this edition, we find ourselves inside the world of Cyndi Ramirez, founder and CEO of Chillhouse, the modern self care brand redefining rituals through beauty, wellness, and design. Known for her blend of Miami heat and New York edge, and her ability to make any space feel both stylish and effortless, Cyndi has become a guiding voice in what it means to create a home that supports the many chapters of modern life. As a mother and entrepreneur, she shapes environments that feel warm, lived in, and endlessly personal.
Our spaces are so personal. What does home look and feel like to you?
Home feels like a cozy and open sanctuary. It reminds me of how far I have come while giving me room to grow. It is where my kids can play, explore, and feel safe. It is my happy place, the spot where life settles and expands all at once.
What spaces outside your home feel like home to you?
Our businesses feel deeply personal. Chillhouse and Rocco’s, my husband’s elevated sports bar, were created from desire and necessity, and they each carry a piece of us. I also feel at home in restaurants like Pastis and Raoul’s. There is something about the warmth, the familiarity, the sense of belonging. The Standard in Miami is another place that feels like mine. It is my self care haven.
What places, aesthetics, or traditions shape your interior style?
Miami’s eighties culture inspires me, mixed with a real love for mid century modern architecture. I gravitate toward vintage furniture and try to bring in pieces with character. We also studied Brazilian Tropicature for the house. Dark walnuts, limewash floors, and cement walls give the home a quiet strength, while our furniture and carpeting soften every edge. The goal was to honor the Miami climate without losing the design principles we love no matter where we live.
Have any fun themes revealed themselves as your home has taken shape?
Chrome. It is very seventies, and we committed to it wholeheartedly. Once we landed on stainless steel hardware, it influenced everything from lighting to our loveseat. Our bedroom takes a different direction. It has a Bali or Tulum feel because that aesthetic brings us calm and peace at the end of every day.
What is the feeling you want your home to evoke?
Inspired, creative, sexy, peaceful. I want people to feel like they can turn up here or absolutely crash on the couch for a bad rom com. I love a home that holds both energy and softness. It should support every mood.
Beyond the rug, is there an item in your home with a story?
We have a vintage chair from a hunt around Miami. It arrived in rough shape, but once restored, it became one of the first pieces that made the house feel personal. It holds a bit of our past and grounds the more polished newness around it.
What is one thing in your home that you recommend to everyone?
My Salam Hello rug. It is comfortable and cozy, and it anchors the space completely. It is soothing to look at and still brings boldness and color. I knew right away that it needed to be the accent moment in the room.
Thank you, Cyndi, for welcoming us into your world. Your mix of nostalgia, warmth, and quiet confidence shows how a home can hold both sanctuary and self expression.
