The Story Behind the Weave:This vintage Amazigh rug is over 40 years old and comes from the Ait Ouaouzguite tribe.This rug was woven by the elders of the weaving association located just outside of Tazenakht, a town known for its rich weaving history.
This timeless piece represents generations of tradition and symbolism. For example, the two middle shapes represents a lion paw, a symbol of strength and protection in the Amazigh culture.
The artisans used a combination of henna, pomegranate skin, saffron, and indigo to create these warm and enduring colors.Due to the age of this piece, you will find some light fraying, with that said, with proper care this piece will continue to charm for many years to come.
