The Story Behind the Weave:This rug was designed and woven by Mina and her mother-in-law, Rokia.
Both women belong to the female only weaving association located a few kilometers north of the popular weaving town of Tazenakht.Made with 100% wool, the artisans of the association carded, spun and dyed the wool all by hand. The primary colors of the rug were derived from a combination of florals, plants and spices. In Anzal the weaving tradition is nurtured by the woman passing the skills down from generation to generation. The design of this piece was created by Mina who aspired to create a modern, abstract artful design. The combination of generations of traditional craft and modern design makes this rug a true work of art.
