This rug comes from a village near the Middle Atlas Mountains.

This piece is a living testament to the powerful history of this village. In Ait Yadine, the weaving tradition is nurtured by the women passing the skills down from generation to generation.

Woven with 100% sheep's wool, the colors are a combination of hand-dyed wool as well as pre-dyed wool bought from the local Souk.

This labyrinth-like weaving technique requires the highest level of skill and concentration. Each symbol that makes up the design is derived by an intricate system of counting. In this textile, the geometric pattern mimics the architectural style you will find all over Morocco.
